The Mermaid

The first feature film I worked on, The Mermaid, gave me my first opportunity to experience the fast-paced, collaborative process of bringing a full-length film to life. Working in the Art Department as a Set Dresser, I helped transform each location through carefully considered details that supported the atmosphere, characters, and story.

I particularly enjoyed making creative decisions about what appeared within the frame and how those choices could subtly communicate a character’s personality, motives, and emotional world.

In addition to my work in the Art Department, I also served as a stunt double, giving me the opportunity to experience another side of the filmmaking process and contribute both on and off camera.
